The Bosch tankless water heater 2400ES is a gas model suitable for doing two hot water activities at once, such as a shower and a load of laundry. It is available in both natural gas (often abbreviated NG) and in propane (LP) models. The ES at the end of the model number 2400ES means that it has received US Department of Energy "Energy Star" ranking. Only some gas models receive this ranking, and no electric ones.

This model qualifies for the US tax credit for tankless water heaters, which is up to 30% of total cost of buying the unit and of having it installed.

The 2400ES can be expected to last 20 years or more, considerably longer than a tank heater. Bosch states that this unit can save up to 50% of the energy you are using now. It is called "easy to install" by Boschwhich I take to mean that a professional would find it easy. No gas tankless water heater will be totally simple, as the sizes of the lines have to be checked and the venting worked out. This Aquastar models can be vented in a variety of ways, so you can fit it into your existing home or add it to one being built. I suggest reading the instructions very closely.

There is also an outdoor installation kit available in warmer climates.

The Bosch Aquastar Tankless Heater 2400ES replaces older models 2400E or EO . It has that Energy Star qualification and the tax credit potential, but they don't.
